About the Auxiliary
The DeKalb County Unit received its charter in February, 1999. Currently there are 25+ unit members. Unit meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month at the Sycamore Veterans Home, 121 S. California Street, Sycamore, IL at 7:00 P.M.
Those eligible for membership are the wives, widows, mothers, stepmothers, sisters, daughters, daughters-in-law, stepdaughters, grandmothers and granddaughters of Marines eligible to belong to the Marine Corps League and Women Marines, former, active and reserve and associates.
Purposes
Patriotic:
(a) To preserve the traditions and promote the interests of the United States Marine Corps;
(b) To maintain true allegiance to American institutions;
Historical:
(c) To hold sacred the history and memory of the men and women who have given their lives to the nation;
(d) To perpetuate the history of the United States Marine Corps and by fitting sets, to observe the anniversaries of historical occasions of particular interest to Marines;
Fraternal:
(e) To create a bond of comradeship between the Auxiliary and the Marine Corps League, Inc.;
(f) To aid voluntarily and to render assistance to all Marines and former Marines as well as to their widows and orphans;
(g) To help decorate the graves of all deceased Marines whenever and wherever possible;
Educational:
(h) To strive for the passage of legislation favorable to the Marine Corps League, Inc. and to the United States Marine Corps and its personnel;
(i) To always foster love of Honesty, Loyalty and Truth, and a reverence to Our God, Our Country, Our Family, and Our Home
